Barracuda finalist in multiple categories in 2022 SC Awards in U.S. and Europe

We’re excited to share that Barracuda has been recognized as a finalist in three categories for the 2022 SC Awards, and three categories in the 2022 SC Awards Europe. Finalists are recognized for outstanding solutions, organizations, and people driving innovation and success in information security.

In the 2022 SC Awards in the U.S., Barracuda made the cut in three categories:

• Best Customer Service


• Best Email Security Solution


• Security Marketing Campaign of the Year

Best Customer Service

This award recognizes companies for stellar support and service. Barracuda won this category in the 2021 awards, and the judges pointed to similar strengths this year. Highlights of Barracuda customer service include free in-depth installation and management documentation on Barracuda Campus, step-by-step videos to on best practices and troubleshooting, on-demand training, and more.

Best Email Security

Email is a vulnerable threat vector for many companies, and this category recognizes solutions that “ensure the privacy of sensitive messages, limit the repercussions of email forgery, and manage other aspects of safeguarding email within the organization.” For Barracuda Email Protection, judges pointed to the powerful artificial-intelligence engine used to detect and stop spear-phishing attacks in real time, and the way it integrates with Microsoft 365.

Security Marketing  Campaign of the Year

A new category added for the 2022 awards, Security Marketing Campaign of the Year highlights  companies  that found ways to creatively communicate the benefits of IT security. Barracuda is being recognized for its Ransomware 123 campaign, which advised customers on the three areas they need to focus on to avoid paying a ransom. The multi-channel campaign included blog posts, videos, email campaigns, an e-book, channel enablement, and more.

About the SC Awards

The 2022 SC Awards were the most competitive to date, with a record 800 entries received across 38 categories — a 21% increase over 2021. This year, SC Awards expanded its recognition program to include several new award categories that reflect the shifting dynamics and emerging industry trends. The expanded Excellence Award categories opened participation to startups, as well as the investors and financial partners supporting their success. The new Trust Award categories recognize solutions in cloud, data security, managed detection and more.

Entries for the SC Awards were judged by a world-class panel of industry leaders, from sectors including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, consulting, and education, among others.

Winners will be announced during SC Awards week, scheduled to begin on August 22, 2022. A Meet the Winners networking reception celebration will take place during InfoSec World 2022, September 27 in Orlando, Florida.

Global recognition

The SC Awards Europe also recently announced the shortlists for their 2022 awards, and Barracuda was recognized in three categories in there as well:

• Best Email Security Solution


• Best Use of Machine Learning/AI

Best Cloud Security Solution

Barracuda CloudGen WAN was one of just seven solutions shortlisted for Best Cloud Security Solution. First introduced in 2020, Barracuda CloudGen WAN is a global secure access service edge (SASE) service delivering SD-WAN, security, and networking built natively on Azure.

Best Email Security Solution

Barracuda previously won this  award, which recognizes outstanding email security solutions and services, in 2020. It is being recognized again this year for Barracuda Email Protection, complete security that stops all 13 email threat types and protects Office 365 data.

Best Use of Machine Learning/AI

In this category, Barracuda is being honored for the artificial intelligence and machine learning used in Barracuda Email Protection to protect against phishing, impersonation, and account takeover. Barracuda previously won this award in 2020, at the time one judge commented, “What Barracuda does in this space is exceptionally important and offers a critical layer of email protection.”

Winners for the SC Awards Europe will be announced at reception in London on June 21, 2022.
