Get to know Barracuda’s new Market Development Funds platform

We’re excited to share that on March 1 we’ll be rolling out a new Market Development Funds (MDF) platform for our channel partners. The new platform will enhance and support our partners’ sales and marketing strategies and ultimately help them develop revenue opportunities to secure new business. What does all that mean? Let’s take a closer look.

With the Barracuda MDF Program, eligible partners will be able to apply for reimbursable funding for approved demand generation, business development, and partner enablement activities. Once the new platform is live, partners will be able to easily access it by logging into the Barracuda Partner Portal and clicking on the “MDF Marketing” link to submit a request.

Here’s a quick overview of the process to help you get started:

1. Work with your channel manager and channel field marketing manager to create a quarterly marketing plan that supports your Barracuda business objectives.


2. Submit an MDF request in the Barracuda Partner Portal.


3. Execute the activity.


4. Submit an MDF claim and proof of performance.


5. Receive reimbursement payment.

Eligible activities

The Barracuda MDF Program is designed to support value-add marketing activities that build awareness and demand generation while also enabling and developing partners to improve joint marketing efforts. Eligible MDF activities must fall into one of the following categories:

1. Demand generation (focused on specific audiences and sales acceleration)


2. Business development (focused on accelerating general awareness)


3. Partner enablement (building sales awareness and education)

Activities that fall into these three categories include a wide variety of options, from direct marketing, advertising, and public relations, to promotional merchandise, customer-facing events, and more.
